A Supplement to Formal Education System
Acharya Mahapragya has played a very important role in developing the System of
Education in our Country. He believes that the main intention of Education should be
the overall development of Personality and to develop the Human Personality with
Moral Values and good Character. He has given a detailed curriculum in ‘Jeevan Vigyan’.
It brings about behavioral and attitudinal changes in the students.
The training courses and practices enunciated by Acharya Mahapragya, which a
student has to undergo, results in crucial bio-chemical and bio-electrical changes
which ultimately transform him. Acharya Mahapragya emphasizes that a student
must be made to go through various exercises and experiments and to periodically
repeat them in order to kindle his/her desire to lead a Value Oriented Life. He says
that with intellectual development through higher education, a person does not
automatically develop morally, emotionally and spiritually. Proper Emotional
Development is necessary whereby feelings like love, compassion, tolerance,
patience, contentment etc. are developed in a human being. In this context, Acharya
Mahapragya has formulated the concept of ‘Jeevan Vigyan’ as a panacea for solving
this universal problem.
The courses as designed and suggested by Acharya Shri under the name Jeevan
Vigyan / Science of Living are now being included in the syllabus for students in a
number of states like Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Bihar.
The main objective of the Science of Living is three fold. First, to build such a
Healthy Personality, which could maintain equilibrium in its physical, mental,
emotional and social health. Second, to build such a new society which is free from violence, exploitation and immortality. Third to build such a new generation which
has a Spiritual-cum-Scientific Personality.
Apart from formal inclusion of this syllabus in formal study programmes, hundreds
of camps have been organized to train people in this curriculum to meet the set
forth objective of overall development of personality.
